A look inside my college apartment:
“You all owe me $45.62 for electric.” – JF
“I bought drinks for our last party, everyone owes me $16.50.” – BS
“B, don’t forget I paid for your dinner last night so you still owe me $23.” – CG
“You also each owe me $7 for last night’s cabs…” – SL
“Cable bill has arrived! The total was $86.54.”
Do you know how much everyone owes everyone? Yeah, neither do I.
If only we had used WePay.
The site is perfect for group budgeting — your roommates, spring break group, club, etc. can all add money to your WePay account and then directly pay bills using that account. You can also use a WePay Prepaid Visa to make shared purchases like cleaning supplies.
Receive the money in your account through a credit card or bank transfer and then spend it using a bank transfer, a paper check mailed out by WePay, or the account’s debit card.
To pay your bills there is a small fee ($.50 on a bank account payment or 3.5% on credit card payments). Other great management features of the site include selling tickets (for clubs, sororities, etc.) or collecting donations for that same fee as bill payment. Not too much when you consider the convenience of the whole thing.
Check out the site! 5 minutes on the site could save you a ton of time figuring out how much money your friends owe you and prevent the fights that inevitably arise over money among roommates/friends.
