Ring In 2019 With Everything Coming To Netflix In January

Netflix definitely knows how to start the year off right—and it’s perfect for binge watching until the start of spring semester (too soon?).

Here are a few shows and films you should watch next month:

1. Solo: A Star Wars Story – January 9

If you didn’t get a chance to watch this Star Wars film in theaters, Netflix has your back.

Young Han Solo (Alden Ehrenreich) finds adventure when he joins forces with a gang of galactic smugglers and a Wookie named Chewbacca (Joonas Suotamo). Indebted to the gangster Dryden Vos (Paul Bettany), the crew devises a plan to travel to the mining planet Kessel to steal a batch of valuable coaxium. In need of a fast ship, Solo meets Lando Calrissian (Donald Glover), the suave owner of the perfect vessel for the dangerous mission—the Millennium Falcon.

2. Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt: Season 4 Part 2 – January 25

“Females are strong as hell!”

The series revolves around Kimmy Schmidt (Ellie Kemper) as she adjusts to life in New York City after being rescued from a doomsday cult in the fictional town of Durnsville, Indiana, where she and three other women were held by Reverend Richard Wayne Gary Wayne (Jon Hamm) for 15 years. Determined to get a fresh start, Kimmy decides to restart her life by moving to New York City, where she quickly befriends her landlady Lillian Kaushtupper (Carol Kane), finds a roommate in struggling actor Titus Andromedon (Tituss Burgess), and gets a nanny job for socialite Jacqueline Voorhees (Jane Krakowski).

3. Marvel Studios’ Ant-Man and the Wasp – January 29

A movie with Paul Rudd AND Evangeline Lilly playing a badass hero. Heck YES.

In the film, Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) grapples with the consequences of his choices as both a superhero and a father. Approached by Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) and Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), Lang must once again become Ant-Man and fight alongside the Wasp. The urgent mission soon leads to secret revelations from the past as the dynamic duo finds itself in an epic battle against a powerful new enemy.

4. Disney Pixar’s The Incredibles 2 – January 30

It’s been 14 YEARS, yet Disney and Pixar managed to live up to our expectations and hopes with the sequel to everyone’s favorite superhero family film.

In Incredibles 2, Helen Parr (Holly Hunter) is called to lead a campaign to bring back the Supers, while Bob Parr (Craig T. Nelson) learns to navigate the role of a stay-at-home father with Violet (Sarah Vowell), Dash (Huck Milner) and baby Jack-Jack. However, their mission is derailed when a new villain emerges with a brilliant and dangerous plot that threatens everything.
