Rep says Christina Aguilera Never Commented on Weight

By now, many collegiettes have seen the reports about Christina Aguilera getting tired “of being a skinny white girl” and putting her foot down when it came time to record Lotus with her label, two years after her last album.

The story of The Voice coach standing up to her label and claiming her weight as her own is inspiring, but turns out, any quotes you have read by “Aguilera” are not true. Numerous reports have talked about Aguilera opening up about her weight struggles with her label since the Stripped promotional tour in 2002 in the latest issue of Billboard magazine, but the singer’s rep says that the repeated quotes are false.

“She never said them,” Aguilera’s rep told EW.

Quotes that supposedly talk about Aguilera’s personal realizations and experiences while recording Lotus cannot be found in the online or print version of the publication. The Genie-in-a-Bottle singer also recently did a story with Lucky magazine, but there are no similar quotes from that interview either.

On the contrary, EW quoted Aguilera from her interview with Lucky saying, “Actually, the challenge I’ve always had is being too thin, so I love that now I have a booty, and obviously, I love showing my cleavage.”

What do you think, collegiettes? If the elaborate quotes about Aguilera’s triumph are fabricated, where did they come from? Chime in with your thoughts in the comments below!
