The Reneé Rapp Multiverse Is Real, Y’all

If you’ve been anywhere on the internet the past couple of weeks, you’ve heard about icon, legend, and moment,  Reneé Rapp. (The Reneé Rapp multiverse is real and we’re living it, besties.) ICYMI, Rapp is known for her iconic role as Leighton in the Sex Lives of College Girls, queen bee Regina George in Broadway’s Mean Girls the musical, and her EP — Everything To Everyone. This woman can do all the things. The internet thinks Reneé Rapp is Gen Z’s next big superstar, and I’d have to agree.

In The Sex Lives of College Girls, Rapp plays Leighton, a once-closeted lesbian. Her storyline shows her journey with navigating her freshman year of college and coming out. The show explores her experience with twincest (basically, being attracted to someone that looks exactly like yourself), being a super-spreader of chlamydia, and outgrowing things she thought she wanted — like being in a top sorority on campus.

Rapp’s Acting Career

Rapp also recently announced (nonchalantly) she’s going back to her roots and starring in Paramount’s upcoming Mean Girls movie musical. (She was the iconic Regina George when Mean Girls was on Broadway.) Rapp joins an iconic cast consisting of Angourie Rice, Jaquel Spivey, and Auli’i Cravalho. Of course, Rapp will reprise her role as Regina, and fans are ecstatic.

Rapp’s Music Career

While we all knew Rapp could act, she’s shown the world she’s also an iconic singer. Her EP Everything To Everyone is an emotional journey filled with seven songs packed with pop anthems and ballads. Rapp sprinkled in bisexual anthems (Colorado, hello), her desire to constantly show up for everyone in her life, and heartbreaking memories of a past love.

The “In The Kitchen” singer is booked and busy, finishing up her very first tour with dates in Los Angeles, New York, Boston, and Atlanta. Although Rapp only has a few songs out, she’s been putting on a show. The concerts are filled with singing along to songs about that trash ex and tons of dancing. At one show, Rapp even brought her Sex Lives of College Girls costar and bestie Alyah Chanelle Scott out on stage and fans lost it.

Mark my words: Rapp is the next big thing, and the whole internet agrees.
