The 65th Grammy Awards has proven to be yet another exciting night for music and pop culture alike. We got to watch as some of our favorite celebrities interacted for the first time in years while others made history snatching up wins in major categories. And if you didn’t already know, Harry Styles won the Grammy for album of the year, and everyone is ecstatic. Really, everyone is thrilled about Styles’ win in the category… including his old bandmates. You read that right: The members of One Direction have been publicly reacting to Styles’ 2023 Grammy wind, and it’s safe to say I’m here for it.
The excitement surrounding Styles’ and the Grammys came after he was announced as one of the performers for the 2023 show. After such a successful year of touring the world, performing in his Harry’s House residency, and even starring in a film or two, fans were thrilled that Styles’ was confirmed to not only attend the show, but perform too.
Styles was nominated for a whopping six categories at the 2023 Grammy awards, but who didn’t see that coming? His nominations included some of the most anticipated awards of the night including Best Pop Vocal Album and Album Of The Year, to which he took home both wins for his 2022 project, Harry’s House.
The coveted album of the year Grammy is one that fans have their eye on each and every year. So, of course, when Styles’ Harry’s House took the crown, everyone had a lot to say about it. One Direction stans have been resurrected this weekend as a few of the band’s old members have taken to social media to congratulate their former colleague and friend on his 2023 Grammy wins.
So, what did Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik have to say about Styles’ Grammy wins? Let’s find out.
Niall Horan said he was ‘very proud’ of Styles in an Instagram story.
Horan was the first of the One Direction brothers to express his excitement for Styles’ Grammy winnings. He was definitely the quickest, too, as he took to Instagram stories to post a congratulatory post as soon as Styles was awarded! Horan’s post was a picture he took while watching the award show, with the caption “very proud” with a red heart emoji. Horan’s got me tearing up, y’all.
Liam Payne made a special Instagram post for Styles.
Cue even more of the waterworks… Payne made a special post on his Instagram feed just to celebrate Styles’ wins. On Feb. 6, Payne posted a black and white photo of Styles holding one of his Grammy awards, in which he dedicated a sweet caption to the artist. He exclaimed that waking up to see the photo in his post was “really something,” continuing to state, “when you write music like you do Harry you deserve every millisecond of that moment looking down smiling at the trophy you’ve earned.” If that doesn’t make you smile, I don’t know what will!
Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik haven’t said anything quite yet.
The final two members of One Direction, Tomlinson and Malik, haven’t publicly congratulated Styles quite yet. There has been no buzz on either of their social media accounts hinting at what they thought about Styles’ winnings, but does there honestly need to be?
Of course, fans love to see the former One Direction members interact in any way possible, but I think that both Tomlison and Malik probably sent their congratulations privately. In the meantime, I’ll be keeping an eye out to see if either of them makes any public posts about Style’s Grammy winnings.
