Is Olivia Rodrigo Dating A Man In Finance? Rumors Are Swirling

Despite what her new album, you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love, might suggest, Olivia Rodrigo seems anything but sad these days. From debuting at No. 1 at the Billboard Hot 100 list to modeling for Dazed Magazine, the “Stupid Song” singer has been having a truly iconic summer. And if recent rumors are any indication, she may be in love again… with a man in finance. So, is Olivia Rodrigo dating Julian Croonenberghs? And who is Julian Croonenberghs?

According to reports, Rodrigo had been spotted several times around Brooklyn with a new mystery man on dinner dates. The man, who has now been identified as Julian Croonenberghs, seems to be a major divergence from Rodrigo’s usual type. Rather than spending his time producing music or acting, Croonenberghs apparently works in private equity on Wall Street.

Before his current role at private equity firm Hg Capital, Croonenberghs worked as an investment banking analyst at Goldman Sachs. According to his LinkedIn, he graduated from Brown University in 2022 with a degree in applied mathematics and computer science.

While neither Rodrigo or Croonenberghs have commented on the rumors, the pair was seen at the airport together with Rodrigo and her team after a trip to Iceland on Monday, July 20. Her Campus reached out to Rodrigo’s team for comment on the dating rumors, but didn’t hear back by the time of publication. The pair reportedly met through Croonenberghs’ sister, Jade, a DJ who shares many industry mutuals with Rodrigo.

Fans shouldn’t necessarily be surprised by Rodrigo’s change in her dating tune, though. In a recent interview with Anthony Fantano, the singer-songwriter said she was looking for someone outside of her industry. “There’s something nice about a nice, normal boy, too. You know what I mean? Like, it’s nice to have a guy with taste, but then there’s some like normal guys… that’s also quite refreshing,” she said. “And sometimes I like it when people don’t know a ton about my job.”

So, whether or not Rodrigo and Croonenberghs are together, all we can hope for our girl is an abundance of happiness — and a few new catchy love songs wouldn’t hurt, either.
