It’s about time we accept reality: the epic romance between two of Hollywood’s hottest raven-haired celebs, Katy Perry and Russell Brand, is really and truly over. (Excuse us while we grab a tissue.) Though the “Wide Awake” songstress and her comedian/actor husband’s divorce was finalized almost three weeks ago, we still didn’t want to believe that the “Teenage Dream” had ended for good.
…Until, that is, we saw that Katy had moved on to bigger and better things. On Wednesday night, the paparazzi caught Katy on camera with a new shaggy-haired Hollywood man: John Mayer! According to Us Weekly, the two enjoyed a dinner together at Chateau Marmont during which they were furtively holding hands, kissing, and apparently having a great time being out and about together. According to one source, “They’re just hooking up right now. It’s not serious – yet!”
This isn’t the first flirtation for the two chart-topping artists. Just one night before Katy’s romance with Russell began at the 2009 VMA’s, she and John were spotted sharing drinks and winks at New York’s Gold Bar, and according to PerezHilton.com, the two also spent some time at John’s place (clothed or not, we ask?) only days after the divorce was finalized earlier this month.
Katy isn’t the only one playing the field post-divorce; Russell seems to be settling down already with his new girlfriend, Isabella Brewster, who he debuted to the pop culture presses at the Pacific Palisades Market on the very day that his divorce was finalized. According to The Daily Mail, Russell and Isabella will soon be renting a new home in Los Angeles together so that they can shack up in style (and avoid those pesky walks of shame, which we imagine are one hundred times worse when paparazzi are involved).
A 14-month-long marriage? Not so spectacular. A rebound with the crooner behind the genius that is “Your Body Is a Wonderland”? Undeniably awesome.
