Swifties: You Can Officially Find Out What Era You Are, Thanks To Spotify

Something that keeps me up at night (aside from those viral cottage cheese and mustard TikToks), is the mental gymnastics I go through trying to figure out what Taylor Swift era I am. As an East Coast girl, I’ve always connected to evermore, but my inner feral girl who runs on tequila and two hours of sleep lives for Midnights. (And let’s not forget how I pretend I live in a constant folklore fantasy once fall comes around.) However, it looks like my sleepless nights may just be over with Spotify’s new feature: I don’t need to pick one era… I can be five.

That’s right, Swifties. On July 26, Spotify rolled out a new feature that curates your five Taylor Swift-coded eras to share on social media. Basically, how it works is that you rank your top five eras (or albums, if you’re a normie) and Spotify creates an Eras Tour-esque poster that you can post on your IG Stories, Twitter, Threads, or your family group chat.

The coolest part, though? The feature actually puts your own choices to the test, and analyzes your listening history to confirm what eras you actually are. So, for the folks out there who think they’re reputation but are really 1989 — check yourself.

How TO FIND The Taylor Swift Eras Feature On Spotify.

Getting access to this new feature is actually pretty simple. Basically, all you need to do is visit https://spotify.com/top5 on your mobile device. You can also access the experience from your Spotify app — just make sure your app is up to date, and it should be on the home banner and the Taylor Swift artist page. (You can also search “My Top 5” or “My Top 5: Taylor Swift’s Eras” in the app.) From there, you’ll be prompted to pick your five favorite eras, and voila! The feature auto-generates a fun poster that’s definitely T-shirt-worthy. Does anyone have some iron-on transfer paper?

For ~extra special~ Swfities, though, that have listened to at least five different Swift albums, you’ll also be able to see your personalized eras data, according to how you’ve streamed Blondie’s tracks on Spotify.

So, whether you’re a massive Taylor Swift fan or you just want to try out a new Spotify feature for fun, the Taylor Swift eras experience on Spotify feature is definitely worth trying out. And while I’ll no longer stay up late wondering what era I truly am, I know I’m bound to lose sleep over something else next — like which Beyoncé album represents me best. Sleep is for the weak, y’all. I blame Spotify!
