My Big Apple Roommate!

Hello everyone!!

Since I’ve given ya’ll glimpses of the people I love back home in Texas, I figured I’d introduce ya’ll to my favorite girl up here in the city!!

So, without further ado, meet my dear friend and Big Apple roommate, CAROLINE THOMPSON!!

Mary Caroline Mitchell Thompson (or Caro to me!) was born in Dallas, Texas, where she lived for a few years until she moved to Santa Barbara, California (Montecito). Caroline is a senior at The University of Arizona where she’s majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies—a special major that mixes 3 areas of study together—she chose Business, Psychology and FASHION. (She’s SUCH a fashionista, too!) She is also a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma (wham bam!) just like me! So it’s really cool to exchange stories about Kappa at our schools!

Caroline and I met in the summer of 2007 doing a Texas tradition—a Debutante Ball!! This particular one, The Tyler Rose Festival, is a longstanding tradition that takes place in Tyler—a little city in East Texas. The Rose Festival is a celebration in which the girls, who are invited from around Texas, wear really elaborate costumes fitting the theme—in our case, the theme was Nature’s Majesty. Many girls were dressed as animals—I was an owl and Caroline was a Pheasant!

Since then, Caroline and I kept in touch and have become extremely good friends! We even went to Hawaii together in 2008 for spring break!! This fall, Caroline needed a getaway from the stresses of school, so she called me up and came down to see me in Waco over Halloween! While she was there, I told her about how I was going to be moving up to New York all by myself and she immediately decided to do the same! (Basically, she applied for a NY internship in the beginning of November and got it RIGHT away!! The girl’s amazing!!) Anyways, Caroline is working as an intern at Vogue this spring in the accessories department! It’s so cool hearing about what she gets to experience there every day! (She’s already been to a photo shoot!)

Obviously, Caro has a GREAT sense of fashion—so, naturally, she loves Juicy too!! Keep checking in on updates of our FABULOUS life up here in NYC!! Between Miss Fashionista and me I can guarantee there will be lots to love about this blog!

Stay Juicy!!
-Chandler

Chandler is a senior at Baylor University where she is a Communication Specialist major with a double major in Spanish. A Texan through and through, Chandler was born and raised in the capital of Texas, Austin. At Baylor, Chandler is a part of Baylor Ambassadors, a lobbying team for more government-sponsored, monetary grants for private universities. She is also a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma where she served as the recruitment chair.

Chandler has spent the past year working as an intern at KWTX Channel 10 News, where she is trying to make her start as a reporter/anchor. She will be spending the next semester in New York, where she'll be interning at CBS's The Early Show. She is so excited about this awesome opportunity through Juicy Couture and Her Campus. Chandler LOVES Juicy because it completely fits her personality, outgoing, fun and unique, but classy. On top of loving Juicy, she enjoys playing her guitar, singing, talking and reading in Spanish. She also loves chocolate, the smell of roses, little kids, politics and hanging out with her friends and family.
