Miley Cyrus’s “Bob Marley” Birthday Confession

On her last birthday, Miley Cyrus was recorded smoking a substance that she later claimed was the legal plant saliva and not (as it appeared) marijuana, out of a bong. This year
, the teen pop-star continued her birthday tradition of being involved with illegal drug use by making a comment on her birthday cake theme that implied she is a “serious pothead.” When presented with a Bob Marley cake at her birthday party at the Beacher’s Madhouse in the Roosevelt Hotel last Tuesday, Cyrus was recorded on video saying that “You know you’re a stoner when your friends make you a Bob Marley cake…you know you smoke way too much f***ing weed.”

Kelly Osbourne, who brought the cake out to Cyrus, quickly responded that she thought that [legal] salvia was Cyrus’s “problem.” But the drug reference and the damage had already been done. You can catch the video on The Daily‘s webpage.

Since the party, Cyrus’s spokesperson has defended the young star, claiming that “[the comment has] all been taken out of context. The cake was a joke and Miley’s response was intended to be sarcastic.” Times Live also reported that Kelly Osbourne defended Cyrus, tweeting that  “Let me make something very clear after @MileyCyrus salvia incident we started calling her Bob Miley as a joke! The cake was also a joke. It makes me sick that @Miley Cyrus so called ‘friends’ would lead people 2 believe she is someone that she is not!”
What do you think collegiettes™? Was Miley’s comment an inappropriate reference to drug use or is the young star simply too over-scrutinized?
