Are Miley Cyrus & Maxx Morando Engaged? They’ve Sparked Rumors

Could Miley Cyrus be engaged to longtime boyfriend Maxx Morando? Signs are pointing to yes after the singer donned a ring on her left ring finger at the premiere of Avatar: Fire and Ash on Dec. 1. (Her Campus reached out to Cyrus’s team for comment, but didn’t hear back by the time of publication.) Cyrus certainly wasn’t trying to hide the possible engagement ring, proudly posing for photos with her hand across Morando’s chest as they made their way down the red carpet for the film, which features Cyrus’s song “Dream As One” on the soundtrack.

The couple first sparked engagement rumors in mid-November when Cyrus was photographed wearing the same ring, according to Deux Moi, and their recent red carpet walk seemed to confirm it. The ring was also reportedly recently featured in a photo of Cyrus and Morando in an Instagram post by Morando’s father, captioned, “Congratulations! @mileycyrus @mmaxxm,” followed by a ring emoji — though his account has since been set to private.

Cyrus and Morando, former drummer for The Regrettes, have been publicly dating for over three years, and were rumored to have been linked when they were spotted close together backstage at NBC’s Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party. In an interview with British Vogue in 2023, Cyrus revealed that they’d actually originally met after being set up on a blind date. “Well, it was blind for me and not really for him,” she said. “I thought, ‘The worst that can happen is I leave.’”

Though they’ve kept their relationship fairly private over the years, the couple has since collaborated on music together, with Morando co-writing and producing “Handstand,” which appeared on Cyrus’s 2023 album Endless Summer Vacation.

While things aren’t officially confirmed yet, it’s safe to say that it looks like our childhood favorite may finally be getting her well-deserved happy ending.
