I’m Living For Miley Cyrus Calling Out The Grammys Crowd For Not Singing “Flowers”

Miley Cyrus was the woman of the hour at the 2024 Grammys. After winning her first-ever Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Performance for “Flowers,” she hit the stage to sing the now Grammy-award-winning song, and it’s one that I’ll never forget.

Cyrus has had all eyes on her at the 2024 Grammys, and there are lots of reasons why: She was nominated for six Grammy Awards, wore an incredibly unique outfit, and of course, made a statement with her iconic hair look. She changed things up a bit when she went on stage to sing her hit song “Flowers,” and she totally called out the crowd for not singing along with her. As she should.

“Flowers” is one of Cyrus’ biggest hits of all time. It topped the Billboard Hot 100 for eight weeks and broke Spotify’s record for most streams in a single week with more than 100 million listens according to Variety. So, when she started to sing the song and the crowd wasn’t singing along much, she reminded them that she is that girl.

A little bit after she started singing, she said into the microphone, “Why are y’all acting like y’all don’t know this song?” I mean, she has a point.

But it doesn’t stop there. She also added in some of her own ad-libs throughout the song. Before singing the last chorus, Cyrus sang “started to cry then remembered I / [Just won my first Grammy!]” Iconic.

While some of the crowd didn’t pass the test, there were lots of celebrities who were singing along and vibing with Cyrus. One of the most notable being none other than Taylor Swift.

Miley’s performance was so refreshing to watch, and it’s amazing to see her vocals and talent finally being rewarded. If you need me, I’ll be re-entering my “Flowers” phase.
