Meghan Markle & Prince Harry Are Moving Out of Kensington Palace & Away from Kate Middleton & Prince William

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are moving out of Kensington Palace and into Windsor Castle’s Frogmore Cottage. The house, where the couple had their wedding reception, is located about 45 minutes outside of London.

The Sun‘s royal correspondent Emily Andrews first reported the news, which was later confirmed by Kensington Palace in a statement: “Windsor is a very special place for Their Royal Highnesses and they are grateful that their official residence will be on the estate.”

Prior to Andrews’ report, it was largely believed that Harry and Meghan would move into Apartment 1 at Kensington Palace, A.K.A. right next door to Prince William and Kate Middleton. But Harry and William recently split their courts, which means they’ll work individually rather than together at a shared office in Kensington Palace.

“The initial plan was for Harry and Meghan to move out of their cottage in the grounds of Kensington Palace and into one of the main apartments,” The Sun reported. “But there has been a bit of tension between the brothers. Now Harry and Meghan don’t want to live next to William and Kate and want to strike out on their own.”

Since Harry and Meghan are expecting their first child together in the spring, there’s also been speculation that Meghan’s mom might be preparing to stay with the couple “on a regular basis,” the Daily Mail reported. Their new home will have ten bedrooms instead of the two they currently have.
