This Video Of Meg Thee Stallion & Justin Timberlake “Arguing” Backstage At The VMAs Took Over Twitter

The internet rejoiced when they saw that the boy band behind “Bye Bye Bye” NSYNC would be appearing at the 2023 MTV VMAs. The quintet appeared early on in the show and presented Taylor Swift with a Moon Person statue when she won the category of Best Pop. They even gave her some friendship bracelets, too. However, not everyone was all smiles to see the band, or so the internet thought. A backstage video reveals what looks to be Megan Thee Stallion and Justin Timberlake talking, but people on Twitter/X originally thought it was an argument.

While viewers can’t explicitly hear an exchange of words, it appears as if NSYNC is moving past Megan Thee Stallion and her team member fixing her hair. Timberlake leans over fellow bandmate Joey Fatone, and says something to Megan, to which she waved a finger.

According to a source from Variety, this was not a fight at all. In fact, it was very much the opposite. The source noted, “He said, ‘It’s so nice to meet you,’ and she said ‘No, no this don’t count, this don’t count. We gotta meet proper.’”

This is such a huge relief. Justin Timberlake is just a big fan of Megan Thee Stallion and Megan Thee Stallion is a fan of Justin Timberlake. They’re just like us, for real.

In a recent TikTok, Megan showed a hang-out session with Timberlake captioned, “I just talk with my hands lol see ya next time @Justin Timberlake.” I love this for both of them.

Fans Speculated Right Away

Some fans took to Twitter/X immediately to share their speculations and already made memes well before the moment was confirmed to not be a fight. This is why you have to wait to make your memes, people!

Basically, if Timberlake is on Twitter/X right now… oop.

Sorry, internet! There’s no tea here!
