The March for Science Now Has an Official Date

It was just a few weeks ago when thousands of women showed up to march in Washington, DC and across the globe to advocate for equal rights. But it didn’t stop there. In fact, that march was just the beginning.

Today, the March for Science, a march founded in order to make a statement that science is crucial and important in our society, announced that they will be hosting a march in Washington, DC on Earth Day to spread the word that “the politicization of science, which has given policymakers permission to reject overwhelming evidence, is a critical and urgent matter,” according to their website. Could that date be any more perfect? Not really.

The march, which will be comprised of scientists and advocates from all over the country, is primarily happening because “recent rhetoric” is harmful to the world and it needs to be discussed, particularly the gag order that the Trump administration placed on certain government researchers that order’s them to stay silent on the topic of climate change, according to Refinery29
