Marc Jacobs’ Spring Collection Stolen

Fashionistas, brace yourselves. According to the Telegraph UK, Marc Jacobs’ entire 2012 Spring/Summer Collection was stolen today, on route from Paris to London!
While there is some speculation as to whether only a few or all forty-six pieces were stolen from the train on which they were being transported to a Marc Jacobs store for a press day, most sources are in agreement that the entire collection was snatched up. This means major trouble for  fashion editors planning on picking looks for editorial spreads.

Jacobs’ PR team sent out an email today regarding the (heinous!) theft, stating that “the Marc Jacobs PR team is sorry to inform you that our press day tomorrow…is canceled, due to the theft of the spring/summer 2012 collections during its transfer from Paris.”

Thankfully there are duplicates of every look, but this will put a strain on fashion magazines planning to shoot the looks in the near future. You can check out the MIA collection on New York Magazine’s fashion page, which is as close as anyone will come to this kidnapped couture until further notice!
