HAPPY ST. PATTY’S DAY, Y’ALL!!!

Everyone who knows me, know that St. Patrick’s Day is my (second) favorite day of the year (next only to MARATHON MONDAY)! Not only is St. Patty’s an excuse for me to talk about how much I love being Irish and how I’m more Irish than anyone else (which, obviously, doesn’t even make sense!) and to drink green drinks and wear green clothes and celebrate the fact that the IRISH are just far superior to anyone else, but it also happens to my HALF-BIRTHDAY!

When I was little – and I mean really little- I would wear a little necklace with shamrocks and leprechauns every St. Patrick’s Day. This was my absolute favorite necklace in the world because I swore it was magical. Every year, I would wake up early (like a kid on Christmas morning), run over to my jewelry box and put my special Irish necklace on in the mirror. I always made sure that I put it on perfectly so that the best leprechaun was centered perfectly for everyone to see.

Later in the day, usually after naptime or during recess, I would pause for a moment and look down at my necklace – just to make sure it was there. And – WOW – the leprechaun wasn’t in the middle anymore! Now a shamrock was centered on my necklace! IT’S THE MAGIC OF THE IRISH! OF ST. PATRICK’S DAY! OF MY HALF-BIRTHDAY!

Turns out it wasn’t magic at all. I was just too little to realize that sometimes during the day jewelry might move a little, thus creating the obvious illusion that the leprechaun and shamrock were actual magical and alive and would switch places when I wasn’t looking.

Anyway, the point of the story is that, although I understand my jewelry doesn’t come alive on St. Patrick’s Day, I still think the day is magical! And what better way to show your love for it than to sport some GREEN? (Even if you don’t love today you should wear green anyway because I’m definitely one of those people that actually pinches you if you’re not wearing any.) That’s why I had the brilliant idea to pick out some of my favorite GREEN Juicy pieces for those of you lacking in the green clothing department!

A Juicy tracksuit – because every girl needs one…

A suttle green scarf – for those of you who think dressing in theme is lame…

Juicy’s Royal Ruffle Purse – perfect for your nighttime Patty’s Day shenanigans!

A neon green bracelet – bright and vivacious for you wild girls!

And, obviously, a little green dress for your Boston Terrier – because dogs are Irish too!

HAPPY ST. PATTY-ING EVERYONE!!

Love,
Maura O’McMurphy

My name is Maura Murphy and I am a junior at Boston University with a working major in advertising. I am a sister in Delta Gamma and, more recently, one of the three new Juicy sisters! I love Juicy Couture because the brand is fashionable but unique, which fits my personality perfectly. I like to fit in, but I also like to stand out and Juicy apparel helps me to look my finest at all times while doing just that. My interests include traveling, shopping and cooking. I am an avid Boston Celtics fan and played basketball for 11 years. I am outgoing, adventurous and passionate. I adore getting dressed up and hitting the town, but also love the nights in with my roommates, spent watching Friends in our pajamas. Gale Sayers once said, “I learned that if you want to make it bad enough, no matter how bad it is, you can make it." I use this quote to focus on the goals I have in life and how to achieve them. I believe that despite any obstacle life throws at you, passion and determination can drive you to the top, so long as you are willing to work for success. That’s all I have for now, but if you’d ever like to know more – just ask! Ciao, Maura
