Lose The Freshman 15: Sunday is a Day of Rest, Right?

Wrong.

If you’re anything like me and my fellow collegiettes™ here at Hollins University then you probably spend Sundays doing all the homework you didn’t do during the rest of the weekend. And I mean all the homework. Who wants to do schoolwork on a Friday night? Or on Saturday? Or Saturday night? Then before you know it, Sunday rolls around and your To-Do list is so high you can’t even see the top, let alone finish it all in a mere 24 hours. The point is, on Sundays for me, there isn’t much time for anything besides playing catch-up and praying I’ll be ready for school on Monday. Between studying and reading and writing and researching, you would think there wouldn’t be any time to eat right, right? Wrong again (0 for 2 you guys, come on).

Today I got up bright and early (maybe that’s not completely true. I got up kind of early. Comparatively early. Weekend Early. Alright, fine, I got up at eleven.) and went straight to the books. I took a twenty minute break at one (In my infinite wisdom and with my superb planning skills I slept through breakfast) for lunch and even in that short time I managed to stick to SELF‘s Jump Start Diet with a tasty Veggie Scramble courtesy of my school’s Weekend Omelet Guy. Then it was back to my room and back to the books (literally books, Hamlet, Villette, The Norton Anthology of Literary Criticism, the list goes on and on and on…).
For dinner I dragged myself away from work to grab a quick dinner, but unfortunately had a hard time matching my school’s menu with the super fab. Jump Start Diet menu. So I did what we all tend to do, I grabbed a salad. I also grabbed two chocolate chip cookies. What can I say, Sundays are hard.

I’m hoping to get back on track tomorrow. A group of my friends are training for a big caving expedition and I join in for the cardio and muscle toning workout. We finish up with some basic yoga moves and the relaxing feeling that comes after the intense work out and the stretching makes getting up at 7 a.m worth it. Even though today wasn’t my best day, I’m still going to try and stick to the Lose the Freshman 15 Challenge and not give up entirely because of one rough day. I hope you guys do the same. Till Tomorrow (Wow, I can’t believe I’m excited for a Monday)
