Lose the Freshman 15: My sisters are visiting

When you’re trying to lose weight, one of the best things you can have on your side is a supporter — someone to help you to stick to your plan, to pick you up after a bad day and to remind you why you’re working so hard when you’re feeling discouraged.  Lucky for me, I have a lot of supporters.

From my parents to my friends to my boyfriend to my sorority sisters, I have an awesome support system behind me, and two of my greatest supporters are my sisters, Alex and Nicki.

Sisters are unlike any other people you’ll ever know. They’ve grown up with you, they’ve seen you through all of your stages and they know your stories, quirks and insecurities. You have some of the best memories together and you make it through some of the hardest times together.

My sisters and I have great relationships. We’re very close and we’ve stood by each other through a couple rough times. Through this whole blogging experience, they’ve been encouraging me and supporting me. They always read my blogs, like my facebook statuses, and sometimes they even post the links on their own walls! They’re the best.

The other day, my sister Nicki called and told me how much I inspired her. It made me want to work even harder to meet my goal and stay healthy! Alex told me how proud she was of me and complimented my noticeably flatter stomach. I can’t wait to go home for the summer and share all of the things I’ve learned with my family, so we can be healthier together.

Today, my sisters came to visit me and I couldn’t be more excited. We’re spending the weekend together, shopping, watching movies and just hanging out. I love going home to visit, but I love it even more when they come here! In honor of my sisters visiting, I’ll share this recipe from the Jump Start Diet.

Banana Pop: Melt 1/2 oz dark chocolate. Drizzle over 1 banana. Freeze until chocolate hardens and banana is firm. 175 calories, 6 g fat (4 g saturated), 30 g carbs, 4 g fiber, 2 g protein

Tip: Add a little bit of almond butter for an extra delicious treat!

Lovin’ on my twin sissies!
