Lorde Invited This Smoothie Shop Employee to Governors Ball Because Life Is Good Sometimes

Lorde is bringing a lucky guest with her to Governors Ball, and it isn’t her famous BFF, Taylor Swift. The sweet singer invited a smoothie shop employee to the music festival over a Twitter DM after she met her at Liquitera. The employee shared all the details on her Twitter, @ThatEmely.

In a video posted by the smoothie maker, Lorde poses with her drink and a big smile as @ThatEmely says, “This is my first smoothie to a famous person. We got Lorde in the house today! She got a Blue Velvet. I am shook.”

Later, @ThatEmely says she received a DM from the “Green Light” singer asking if she wanted to go to Governors Ball. Like anyone would, @ThatEmely responded, “No way—this is a joke right?” But alas, Lorde assured her it wasn’t a joke. She wanted to ask her when they met at the smoothie shop, but she “got shy.” How cute is that?!

@ThatEmely posted a couple of confused selfies after she received Lorde’s message. It looks like she’s still in disbelief, but of course, she accepted the invite.

Will @ThatEmely be the newest addition to Lorde’s squad? A girl can dream.

Abbey is a senior at the University of Wyoming and is currently majoring in Journalism. She couldn't imagine a world without Jesus, coffee, The 1975, Twitter or her family. You'll usually find her at a concert or cafe somewhere, which is where she spends majority of her free-time. Talking to band members after their shows is a hobby, along with thrifting & indulging in all aspects of pop culture. After college, she plans to spend more time at concerts, getting paid to write about music and bands.
