From July 22 until August 22, the passionate, fiery, and confident of Leo season will impact everyone (and their egos) regardless of their zodiac sign. WHAT DOES “LEO SEASON” EVEN MEAN?
Just like every new astrological period, Leo season comes with certain qualities that may affect your personality, behaviors, and even your actions. As the sun moves into Leo, every zodiac sign should expect to feel the effects of this fire sign’s regal and glamorous energy until we move into Virgo season at the end of August.
WHEN DOES LEO SEASON START?
The sun moves into Leo at exactly 4:07pm EST on Friday, Jul 22, 2022. However, since Leo loves attention, there’s no harm in welcoming Leo season as soon as you wake up on Friday. Expect to feel more confident and empowered until the season comes to a close on August 22.
HOW DOES LEO SEASON AFFECT ME?
This astrological period is important for all signs—not just Leo (sorry, it can’t be all about you all the time). With an upcoming new moon and Jupiter entering retrograde, Leo season is full of surprises no matter what your zodiac sign is.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20):
Taurus—an Earth sign—is typically more mellow and grounded than that of the impulsive Leo. However, Taurus should expect the unexpected during Leo season, maybe even financially.
According to Furiate, “Taurus may be pulled between a home and work project which could result in an unexcepted layout of cash. Because change may be unexpected, know that it is okay to reach out to family for help or support!”
GEMINI (May 21-June 20):
If there’s one thing a Gemini loves, it’s communication. And with Leo season entering your third house of information, this air sign should be prepared for a very busy (and motivating!) astrological period.
“Gemini may be busy with an extra class load or business-related work,” Furiate says. “They might also finally feel the motivation to write that short story or book they’re been thinking about.”
CANCER (June 21-July 22):
With their birthday season coming to a close, Cancer may feel exhausted from their time in the spotlight. However, it’s important to note that the Leo sun will be entering Cancer’s second house of finances—so get ready for a possible extra b-day gift.
“Cancer could take on a part-time gig to bring in extra cash. This is an excellent time to fund investments with the hopes of added financial security,” Furiate explains.
LEO (July 23-Aug. 22):
Welcome to your season, babes! With the sun in Leo for the next astrological period, Leo should prepare to celebrate all month long.
As Furiate says, “No one loves a party more than a Leo. This is the perfect time to celebrate yourself and to spread your happiness and joy as you welcome a new birth year.”
VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22):
Virgos are known for their driven and ambitious personalities. However, Leo season just happens to enter your 12th house of spirituality—so now may be the time to rest up before your birthday season starts on August 23.
“Virgo may want to slow down or tidy up any loose ends as they prepare for a new cycle,” says Furiate. “This is the perfect time to take a tai chi or yoga class to center the body and mind.”
LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22):
As the birthday babe’s platonic soulmate, Libra should expect to feel fabulous this astrological month. Inspired by the celebratory energy of the season, Libra may find themselves having more fun than usual during Leo season.
Furiate tells Her Campus, “Libra will be in their element with a strong desire to entertain friends or hang out with like-minded social groups.”
SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21):
With Leo season entering your 10th house of career, Scorpio may feel an extra push to achieve in all things job-related.
As Furiate puts it best, “Scorpio may feel an intense urge to step up their competitive nature to impress a coach, professor, or boss.”
SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21):
Rounding out the fire-sign trio, Sagittarius may take the fun energy of Leo season and channel it into an adventure.
“Sagittarius is ready to rock and roll to get things moving,” according to Furiate. “Fun is all around Sag this month as well as the desire to explore deeper into the mind.”
CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19):
Since their new moon on July 13th, Capricorn may be feeling a bit of exhaustion after the hectic and emotional energy of last Cancer season. However, these workaholics have the chance to unwind a bit during this astrological period.
Furiate’s prescription? “This may be the appropriate time to allow yourself a much-needed break and to give yourself permission to let go for a moment.”
AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18):
Always emotionally intellectual, Leo season may be a perfect time for Aquarius to dive a bit deeper into their feelings. Do I smell…love…in the air?
“Aquarius may feel compelled to team up with an old flame or send out positive vibes to connect with a special new someone,” Furaite says.
PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20):
Finally, the dreamy and oftentimes scatterbrained (hey, I’m one of y’all—I can say it) Pisces may find themselves embracing the spirit of routine this Leo season.
“Pisces may benefit from changing up or adding a new healthy habit into their daily steps,” Furiate tells Her Campus. “Now may be the perfect time to pull out the blender to make a fruit smoothie or plant a small herb garden.”
