Lauren Jauregui Just Released Her First Solo Track & I’ve Destroyed The Replay Button

Here’s another song to add to your ever-growing playlist of Spotify jams: Lauren Jauregui just debuted her first solo song, “Expectations”—a soulful track she wrote herself.

Branching out on her own after her former girl group, Fifth Harmony, announced their hiatus in March of this year, Lauren has since expressed her excitement of releasing new, long-awaited music for her OG fans, as well as new ones along the way. “Everything feels so surreal. I’m so grateful to have been able to be so immersed in this creative process and give the world a piece of my heart. I’m excited to see its reception and continue to grow and create and share with you all,” she said in a statement of the song and her new chapter ahead. “I appreciate anyone who is listening, whether you’re someone who’s followed my journey or are just joining the ride—thank you for choosing to share in my energy! I hope you love it.”

The first time fans were able to hear “Expectations” was during Halsey’s Hopeless Fountain Kingdom tour in South America this summer, where Lauren was the opening act. Performance-goers responded positively to her single and the Internet buildup before today’s release was immense. Recordings of the live version of “Expectations” reached over three million views.

While still a member of Fifth Harmony, Lauren joined forces with Marian Hill on their track, “Back to Me,” Halsey’s “Strangers” and “All Night” with Steve Aoki. Through those partnerships, fans were finally able to hear Lauren without Fifth Harmony—a voice that can carry a tremendous amount of emotion, allowing listeners to feel the exact sentiments that she sings about. Expect new music from the vocalist as we finish up the year and head into 2019. Collaborating with writers/producers, such as Kid Harpoon, Ilsey Juber and Alex Hope, Lauren is letting her creativity flow as she extremely involved and deep into the writing, editing and producing of her own art.

I cannot wait for that solo album to drop!
