Lady Gaga Hosts “A Very Gaga Thanksgiving” For Little Monsters

There are certain traditions that we love and look forward to every November for Thanksgiving – from carving the oven-cooked turkey, watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, playing backyard football with family… but, Lady Gaga?

The pop superstar hosted her own 90-minute special which aired Thursday night on ABC, wishing her little monsters a very happy Thanksgiving. Dubbed, “A Very GaGa Thanksgiving,” the holiday program featured Mother Monster singing some of her billboard hits such as “Born This Way,” “Bad Romance,” and “Marry the Night” as well as a few holiday classics and even an intimate duet with legendary crooner Tony Bennett.

Lady Gaga kicked off her holiday special by sharing the spotlight with Tony Bennett for a special performance of “The Lady Is a Tramp.”

In her interview with Katie Couric, Gaga revealed that had stripped off her clothes for Bennett to sketch her in the nude. “I walked in and said ‘Well Tony here we are,’ and I dropped my robe and I got into position,” she said. “I felt shy and thought ‘It’s Tony Bennett, why am I naked?'” The picture is set to be published in Vanity Fair sometime next year.

Talking about her experience of working with Bennett, Gaga said, “Oh Tony, he’s so handsome I feel terrible whenever his wife is around because he is so charming and such a gentleman.”

Tony Bennett himself had nothing but praise for Lady Gaga, “She is the most creative person I ever met but there is something very special about her.”

She cooked up family recipes with Chef Art Smith and made crafts with third-graders from her former elementary school, the Upper East Side all-girls Catholic school Sacred Heart.

And what would be any Gaga extravaganza without her jaw-dropping fashion? From a white furred gown for her “White Christmas” performance to an orange, wide-legged halter-neck ju
mpsuit for “Bad Romance,” there was plenty of costume changes for little monsters to admire.

So, what is Lady Gaga thankful for this Thanksgiving?

“I’m thankful for the health of all my friends and family,” she said.

She even got teary-eyed when talking about opening their new restaurant in New York City with her father Joe Germanotta. They named the Italian cuisine restaurant “Joanne,” after Lady Gaga’s aunt and namesake, Joanne Germanotta.

“My Dad – it was always his dream to open up a restaurant. So my Dad and I opened up a restaurant together and it’s called Joanne,” she said. “Watching my Dad put up the awning on 68th street two blocks from where I grew up in beautiful brown stone where they make Italian food and to watch him open the restaurant of his dreams and have it called ‘Joanne’ after his sister… that’s wealth. That’s the dream.”
