Kristen Stewart’s Enthusiasm Pushed PG-13 Rating

Due to some very specific MPAA guidelines on…thrusting, Twilight super-star Kristen Stewart had to tone down her acting in what some are calling the most anticipated scene in the most anticipated film of the year.  According to director Bill Condon, the Breaking Dawn honeymoon scene came close to warranting an R-rating because Stewart “got very into it.” During the film’s press conference Condon explained the MPAA’s R-rating standards to Celebuzz.com,  “I hate to be clinical, but [there are] guidelines on thrusting intercourse…not to make people too excited…any movement that suggests that is what they object to.”

Condon was quick to add that Breaking Dawn is about more than the steamy scenes that dominated the movie trailers.
The story, he said, “was so much more about romance than it was about hot-and-heavy action.”

What did Stewart have to say for herself? Apparently overkill is to be expected when the undead get it on, “Not to give anything away…it’s not just human sex. It’s obviously blown a little bit out of proportion, slightly.” After chalking her extreme enthusiasm up to extenuating cross-species circumstances, Stewart also mentioned that she was operating under extreme pressure. She told The Sun that “it’s kind of like the most important scene in the movie. It’s so weird.”

Hailed by some as the greatest love story of our generation, the Twilight Saga is undoubtedly about true love. That having been said, after three movies of PG-appropriate affections, viewers around the world are also undoubtedly looking forward for the kind of physical romance they can sink their teeth into.
