Khloé Kardashian Quits PETA to Support Kim after Flour-Bombing Incident

The Kardashian siblings just can’t seem to stay out of the spotlight. Last Thursday, Kim Kardashian was “flour bombed” as she arrived on the red carpet to market the launch of her new perfume, “True Reflection.”

What exactly does “flour-bombing” consist of? It is the same idea as glitter bombing, but instead of glitter, a bag of flour is thrown at a specific target. Kim was caught off guard and embarrassed, but she proceeded to brush off the flour and continue with her promotional task at hand. The show must go on, right?

However, the controversy continued over the weekend as TMZ reported that the attacker, identified as Christina Cho, screamed “fur hag” after flour-bombing Kim. While the Cho’s motive originally was unclear, it is now known that she is closely connected to the anti-fur group PETA. TMZ also reported that Christina Cho is a longtime militant member of PETA who was once given an award by the group for her dedicated efforts. PETA pledged to support Cho if Kardashian decides to press charges.

Now, we are talking about the fame-loving Kardashians, so of course some of the family wanted to get involved. Khloé Kardashian, once a strong supporter of PETA, announced Monday that she’s quitting the organization. This is surprising as Khloé was once such a huge PETA proponent that she even posed nude in a 2008 PETA advertisement to show that she’d “Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur.”

Khloé took to her blog yesterday writing, “I just received word that the woman responsible has very close ties to PETA, despite PETA publicly stating otherwise. Not only has PETA lied to the public, but they have proved that they support this kind of behavior.”

She goes on to explain, “I’ve been a vocal supporter of PETA for a long time but I have also been very vocal about anti-bullying, so this was a huge disappointment for me. As you all know, I don’t condone violence and bullying and what happened last Thursday was just that.”

PETA addressed Khloé’s concerns and accepted her resignation from the organization by stating, “We appreciate that Khloé will remain on the animals’ side by not wearing fur – that’s what counts. If one of our volunteers is responsible, it doesn’t alter the fact that no animal deserves to be electrocuted, shot, or poisoned for a bit of fur clothing. Khloé is just defending her sister, and we know she has a good heart, so we wish her well. We just wish she also had more influence on her sister.”

The Kardashian family drama is continuous and never-ending, but it seems as if Khloé, Kim, and PETA are slowly working things out. Now we will just have to wait and see if Mama Kris and Kourtney try to get in on the drama, too.
