Kellyanne Conway Denies That She Secretly Hates Trump

Kellyanne Conway has spoken up this week in response to criticism by the hosts of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.” According to The New York Times, “Morning Joe” hosts Mika Brzeizinski and Joe Scarborough said Monday that Conway had complained about Trump and claimed she only worked for the campaign “for the money.”

According to Variety, Brzeizinski claimed on air that during Conway’s previous appearances on “Morning Joe,” she would praise Trump during the show, but act differently off-camera.

“The camera would be turned off, the microphone would be taken off, and she would say ‘Blech, I need to take a shower,’ because she disliked her candidate so much,” Brzeizinski said on the show.

The “Morning Joe” hosts banned Conway from appearing on the show in February after she described false White House statements as “alternative facts,” the Times reported.

Conway now serves as a counselor in the White House, and has spoken out on Twitter to deny the claims made by the show hosts.

“The hosts of MSNBC’s Morning Joe have become virulent critics of the President and those close to him. Ignoring insults and insinuations is a valuable skill. But when sentiments are attributed to me that are not true, it is necessary to respond” she wrote in the statement. “My beliefs, commitments and loyalties are plain to see.”

She then continued to deny the claims that she only served for President Trump because of the monetary reward attached with the position.

“The notion that I am serving ‘for the money’ or a ‘paycheck’ is absurd. As campaign manager, I made a fraction of what other consultants have made on unsuccessful presidential campaigns,” the statement read.

“It is a privilege to assist President Trump in the White House, just as it was during the campaign. I know him, I respect him, I believe in him, and I am confident in his capacity to be a transformative and successful President.”
