Kate Upton Revealed as Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit Cover Model

Last night on the David Letterman Show, Kate Upton confirmed that she is this year’s cover model of the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue. The leaked cover shows a lengthy photo spread of the stunningly gorgeous 19-year-old blonde in a teensy hot pink bikini.

On top of all this media attention, rumors have been swirling that she and New York Jets player, Mark Sanchez, have been hooking up. When asked by TMZ if she is single she played coy, saying,”What do you think?” Then when they asked if Mark Sanchez was the guy she said, “I don’t know! It’s whatever you think!”

She’s stirring up chatter already not just because of her rumored relationship with a NY Jets player or her bikini bod, but because of the controversial response of a world-famous catalogue she once modelled for Victoria’s Secret.

Although Upton has been featured in the lingerie catalogue before, Sophia Neophitou,
a Victoria’s Secret spokeswoman and the woman who casts the annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, said she would never let Upton walk the VS runway.

Why? Her look is “too obvious,” Sophia Neophitou, who casts the shows, told the The New York Times. “She’s like a footballer’s wife, with the too-blond hair and that kind of face that anyone with enough money can go out and buy.”

Regardless, the 19-year-old, Michigan-born model doesn’t seem to care. Her Twitter feed is full of thank yous to her adoring fans.

What do you think, collegiettes?
