Fans Are Wondering Where Jin’s “The Astronaut” Music Video Was Filmed

On Oct. 28, BTS’s Jin dropped the music video for his single, “The Astronaut” featuring Coldplay. Following the announcement of their military enlistment, this video is leaving a lot of BTS fans emotional. And honestly? I can’t blame them. I mean, the purple helmet?!

While the music video is full of deeper meaning, which fans were quick to point out, others have been obsessing over another aspect of the video: the filming locations. Shot in an idyllic suburban neighborhood, a city, and a UFO crash site (yeah, it’s pretty sick), fans have been trying to narrow down just where this touching and beautiful music video was filmed.

“The Astronaut” Was Filmed At The Warner Bros. Lot.

While BTS is a South Korean music group, the music video for “The Astronaut” was actually filmed in the states — in Los Angeles, to be exact. Most of the scenes in the music video were filmed on the famous Warner Bros. lot in Burbank, California, namely the scene where Jin comes face-to-face with an astronaut. Fans on Twitter made sure to alert ARMY that the video was shot on the Warner Bros. lot, and in front of an iconic building, nonetheless.

To be exact, the entire scene where Jin is in the city was filmed on a part of the lot called “Embassy Courtyard/New York Park,” which has been seen in La La Land, Gilmore Girls, and many other popular film and television projects.

Was “The Astronaut” Filmed at The Wandavision House?

Upon the video’s release, fans were also quick to draw a connection between the house featured in “The Astronaut” and the Disney+ show, Wandavision. Both the music video and the show feature a spotless suburb, cookie-cutter houses, and an easily recognizable aesthetic. Wait… is this a BTS-Marvel crossover?

While fans may know this neighborhood by its Marvel name — Westview — this is just another location on the Warner Bros. lot called “Blondie Street.” And while you may recognize it from Wandavision, this neighborhood has also been featured in American Beauty, Project X, and Pleasantville, among others.

So, What About THe U.F.O Crash site?

While BTS fans were able to narrow down where the majority of the video is shot, the exact location of the crash site is unconfirmed. And while we’d all love to take a drive there and look for a U.F.O (and Jin, obvi), I guess we’ll all just have to wait until IMDb drops the official shooting locations. If you need me, I’ll be watching this video for the 100th time in a row.
