Jimmy Kimmel’s Monologue About His Newborn Son’s Health Scare Will Make You Ugly-Cry

During Jimmy Kimmel Live Monday night, an emotional Kimmel revealed the health scare his newborn son had shortly after he was born. The late-night host’s wife gave birth to baby Billy on April 21, but he was soon diagnosed with a heart disease. Right after his birth, Billy had to have open-heart surgery.

Warning: Prepare to sob your way through this.

Billy is home now, spending time with his mom, dad and big sister. After sharing the emotional story, Jimmy joked, “Poor thing, not only did he get a bad heart but he got my face.”

Kimmel thanked the incredible team of doctors, nurses and others who helped save Billy’s life, and then called out President Trump for trying to repeal Obamacare. “No parent should ever have to decide if they can afford to save their child’s life… it just shouldn’t happen,” he said.

We’re so glad little Billy is okay! Understandably, Jimmy is taking the rest of the week off to be with the newborn.
