Jersey Shore Axed by MTV

The time has come to say goodbye to fist pumps, bar brawls, and GTL’ing: MTV has officially announced that the upcoming sixth season of the Jersey Shore will be the reality show’s last.

The final season will kick off on Thursday—or Jersday, as it has come to be known—October 4. While the end is near, MTV has promised to give our favorite guidos and guidettes a proper goodbye. The network has said that they will be running bonus programming with fan-favorite shows, reunion specials, and a one-hour retrospective, “Gym, Tan, Look Back.”

“It’s been one hell of a ride but this is just the beginning!,” Samantha “Sammi Sweetheart” Giancola tweeted. “Thank you all for your love & support throughout the seasons!! These memories will never be forgotten!!”

But don’t fret, this won’t be the last we’ll see of these fist pumping, overly tan stars—spinoffs were created for a reason!

Best friends Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi and Jenni “JWoww” Farley have confirmed that their show, Snooki & JWoww, will film a second season. While this dynamic duo is off capturing their every mishap and laugh for the small screen, DJ Pauly D is awaiting confirmation on another season of his television show, The Pauly D Project. And, of course, there’s no need to say “bye, bye, bye” to Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino. The king of GTL will be a housemate on Celebrity Big Brother.

But while the rest of the cast plans to continue their reality show stardom, Vinny Guadagnino has something a little different planned for his future. Following the announcement of the show’s cancellation, he tweeted, “Alright, so I guess I’ll run for president now #Vinny2012.”

So, collegiettes are you ready to say goodbye to Seaside Heights? Let us know what you think of the show’s cancellation in the comment box below!
