Jennifer Love Hewitt, 34, might not be holding out much hope for her current romance with her Client List co-star Brian Hallisay, 34, if she’s really considering freezing her eggs. An unnamed source tells Us Weekly that Jennifer “has been asking a few women she knows about freezing her eggs.”
According to USC Fertility, it gets more and more difficult to get pregnant as women age. The entire process of freezing your eggs to use them at a later time takes several weeks of hormone injections to mature the eggs and prepare them for a special freezing procedure. Then the eggs can be thawed, fertilized with sperm and implanted in the uterus several years later. Although the procedure is mostly painless, the hormones can make life uncomfortable. Many women choose to do it because their careers or other reasons put off having babies, and they want to be able to use the healthy eggs from their most fertile years when they’re older and ready to have children.
Huffington Post reports that Jennifer’s desire to freeze her eggs isn’t new in Hollywood. Other stars, such as Bridget Marquardt and Maria Menounos, have done it. According to Huffington Post, the idea even crossed Kim Kardsahian’s mind, but Kanye West took care of that.
The source assures Us Weekly that Jennifer is only considering it as a last resort. “If it doesn’t work out with Brian, she can still be a mom one day,” says the source. Well, for Jennifer’s sake, we hope things work out with Brian!
