Japan Is Getting This Watermelon Starbucks Drink & I NEED To Try It

It’s time to get my one-way ticket to Tokyo. Starbucks is releasing a watermelon drink on June 28—but only in Japan. The Shaken Watermelon and Passion Tea is made from crushed ice, watermelon juice and Teavana tea, AKA the perfect summer drink.

If the new Mango Pineapple and Berry Prickly Pear Frappuccinos weren’t your thing, this just might be the drink of the summer for you. If only it didn’t require crossing the Pacific Ocean to taste it! Japan has been seriously blessed with the most unique Starbucks flavors, including the Sunshine Mandarin Mango Tea Frappuccino and Sakura Blossom Cream Frappuccino in the past. Meanwhile, we’re stuck with caramel, vanilla and java chip in the states. They’re classics, but they can get boring.

If seeing this watermelon drink has got you craving the most refreshing pink fruit, we have several watermelon recipes you’ll love for summer. Or, if you want to recreate Starbucks’ Japanese drink, try making it yourself by blending ice, watermelon juice and your favorite passionfruit tea in a blender before heading out to sip and relax by the pool.

But for those of you #wanderlust-obsessed collegiettes, if you find yourself in Japan this summer, you can get the official Starbucks Shaken Watermelon and Passion Tea until August 31.
