Is Taylor Swift Working On ‘TS13’? Her Studio Visit Has Fans Buzzing

Attention Swifties: You have permission to start clowning, as a new Taylor Swift album may be closer than anticipated. On the evening of June 15, Swift was seen entering the iconic Electric Lady Studios in New York City, which immediately prompted questions of whether she was there to record new music. Fans have been speculating the details of TS13 since the release of Swift’s 12th album, The Life Of A Showgirl  — and especially with the release of her most recent single, “I Knew It, I Knew You” — so the timing, and visibility, of this appearance feels like a sign to many.

For a celebrity who knows how to be unseen from the limelight (never forget her 2017 radio-silent hiatus prior to Reputation), Swift has been spotted a fair bit in the month of June, including sitting courtside at two of the NBA finals games, performing at the Toy Story 5 premiere, and being inducted into the songwriters hall of fame. To fans who know Swift’s history, it seems like she wants to be seen out and about right now, which may be a sign that she could soon have something to promote. And to be photographed outside a music studio — one that she could have easily snuck into without anyone noticing — well, it seems intentional. It’s especially noteworthy considering this particular studio has been used by Swift in the past for albums including Lover, Folklore, and Midnights.

Swift’s visit to Electric Lady was no quick stop, either, lasting more than nine hours. (She arrived at 8 p.m. and left around 6 a.m.) Adding more fuel to the speculative fire, Swift was seen leaving the studio with Alana and Danielle Haim, two members of sister band trio HAIM. The band collaborated on Swift’s song “no body, no crime” and HAIM’s song “Gasoline.” Is this a hint that there will be more musical collaboration in the near future? To push the theories even further, Electric Lady Studios has been used by several of Swift’s friends and collaborators including Sabrina Carpenter, Lana Del Ray, and Jack Antonoff.

For many fans, these are all signs to speculate when, not if, TS13 will be announced in the near future. However, according to Deuxmoi, there are rumors that a birthday party was taking place at the studio while Swift was there, so it’s possible she was just at the studio to celebrate, and not create.

All that’s known for sure is fans expect TS13 — whenever it arrives — will be iconic. Swift’s lucky number is 13 and she uses it frequently in her Easter eggs for the fans, so of course fans believe she has something enchanting up her sleeve. However, similar to her upcoming wedding to fiancĂ© Travis Kelce, it seems the public will get the 411 when Swift is ready to share it.
