If You’re a Politics Junkie, You Need to Apply For This Position

If you’ve watched all the primary debates and can’t tear yourself away from the news about Donald Trump’s latest spat with the media, then Her Campus needs you: We’re searching for an amazing team of writers to help us cover all things Election 2016.


As an election writer, you’ll be our main source of coverage for this year’s presidential election. In the months leading up to the election, you’ll research and write explainers on each of the major issues, and conduct interviews with people involved in the political process. Assignments are given weekly, and pitch-to-live time is two weeks. Additionally, each week, you’ll be required to sign up for one news shift, a two-hour period during which you are expected to be at your computer and ready to write two blog posts. Not only will you get to have a blast informing HC readers about crucial election news—This position will look amazing on your resume if you’re looking to get into journalism or politics in the future.
