Any issue is usually up for grabs in comedy, but audience members at Amy Schumer’s Tampa show weren’t having it when Schumer began criticizing Donald Trump. The Tampa Bay Times reports that about 200 people left the Amalie Arena on Oct. 16 when Schumer discussed politics too much for their liking. A small portion of the audience booed Schumer when she brought up topics like gun control and called Trump an “orange, sexual-assaulting, fake-college-starting monster.”
“The show became political,” audience member Ryan Atwood said to the Times. “I definitely didn’t come to hear this.”
So far, the public seems to have mixed feelings about the incident.

Schumer riled up some fans by asking why someone would support Trump and even inviting one of his followers to explain himself on stage. An audience member caught the moment on video, showing a man telling Schumer that he didn’t trust Hillary Clinton.
“We’re not talking about why you don’t like Hillary, we’re talking about why you like Trump,” Schumer said when the man began discussing Clinton in detail.
Schumer also made fun of Trump’s reaction to the SNL parody of him at the second presidential debate, which Trump called a “hit job.” A survivor of sexual assault, she then asked other victims to stand up for a moment of solidarity. Even despite some audience members leaving, Schumer still seems to be in a good mood.
“I loved the crowd and my show in Tampa last night!” Schumer shared with EW. “I want to thank the 8,400 people who stayed…We have always depended on comedians to make us laugh and tell the truth. I am proud to continue that tradition.”
