How the US Ambassador to the UN Thinks College Women Can Change Our World (VIDEO)

Ready to be inspired? Look no further than Samantha Power, brilliant U.S. Ambassador to the UN. Before the holidays, you heard her thoughts on the global refugee crisis and America’s role in it. Now we’re sharing the rest of the interview, where she chats with Her Campus Editor-in-Chief Stephanie Kaplan Lewis about being a female ambassador in the male-dominated United Nations, and working on transgender rights with Caitlyn Jenner.

She also has some great advice for college women: Go deep on issues you care about, and remember to humanize big problems with individual people’s stories. She knows what she’s talking about—Power spent her first few years out of college working as a journalist in the former Yugoslavia, where she got a first taste of many of the issues she would work on years later at the UN.

“I love college women. I’m counting on college women!” Power says. Let’s live up to that challenge! Check out the rest of the interview below.
