Josh Radnor, known to most of us as Ted Mosby on the beloved CBS series How I Met Your Mother, is set to play the love interest of Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo).
People confirmed that the actor will appear as a potential love interest of Meredith’s on Thursday night’s episode. In a sneak peak of the upcoming episode, Meredith Grey can be seen dressed in a tan-colored trench coat and white blouse underneath. Her sister-in-law Dr. Amelia Shepard (Caterina Scorsone) asks “What happened? Are you going to a funeral?” Grey then admits that she is going on a blind date.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Pompeo said that this season will really dive into Meredith’s dating life. Following the death of her husband Derek Shepard in 2015, she’s had a pretty crazy ride in the romance department.
“Patrick Dempsey is a very tough act to follow, and it’s challenging to get someone to come on a season 15 show,” Pompeo told Entertainment Weekly. “We’re gonna find someone who makes an impact. That’s our biggest challenge this year.”
Radnor played Ted Mosby on the CBS series from 2005 to 2014, and most recently starred in the now canceled NBC’s series Rise. It’s unclear if Radnor will appear in more than one episode.
