Hold Up, Did Netflix Just Tease Beyoncé’s New Documentary ‘Homecoming’?

Get ready Beyhive, because it looks like Netflix will release a Beyoncé special very soon.

The streaming service announced a new project on Sunday called “Homecoming,” set to release on April 17. Fans started to speculate that the project would be about the singer’s legendary performance at Coachella. Many noticed that the color scheme and lettering looked similar to Bey’s Coachella merch and that the release date marks almost a year since her performance at the music festival.

As well, “Homecoming” is also the name of Beyoncé’s clothing line. The “Crazy in Love” singer’s collection and two-hour Coachella set was inspired by historically black colleges and universities, according to HuffPost. Last year, Beyoncé also launched the Homecoming Scholars Award Program, a scholarship program to help students attending HBCUs.

The tease follows rumors earlier this week that Beyoncé was working with Netflix to create a special about her 2018 Coachella performance and behind-the-scenes moments, Us Weekly reported. The publication also revealed that the singer would release new music this year. One source even said that Beyoncé is working on a deluxe album that will be a mix of old and new songs.

Of course, fans lost it on Twitter, following Netflix’s announcement.
