Her Campus Is *The* Destination For Gen Z Women This Election 2024 Season

It’s cool to stay informed — especially when it comes to politics in a major election year. The 2024 election season has already begun with state primaries already underway, and Gen Z holds a lot of power to create change. There are over 40 million Gen Zers who are eligible to vote this year — 8 million of which will be eligible to vote for the first time. Trying to understand the election 2024 season, the intricacies of voting, and candidates’ viewpoints can be incredibly overwhelming — especially if you’re a new voter. Luckily, Her Campus is providing all this information and more for Gen Z, all in one place.

Her Campus is the Gen Z destination for the 2024 election, with candidate updates and explanations on major issues all broken down for Gen Z by Gen Z. To cover the intricacies of the election cycle, Her Campus has created an exclusive National Election Team, made up of student reporters who are going above and beyond to give readers the stories they care about on the hot-button topics that matter most to them. (You can read some of their pieces here.) Outside of our collegiate reporters, Her Campus has formed an election focus group made up of over two dozen students from around the country — with viewpoints across the political spectrum — ready to lend their real-time thoughts on candidate platforms, hot topics, and trending news this election season.

On top of Her Campus’s holistic coverage of election and political news, Her Campus is also highlighting Gen Zers themselves who are running for office in our monthly series Gen Leaders. Features in this series so far include 26-year-old Cheyenne Hunt, who is using TikTok and social media to her advantage in her bid to represent California’s 45th congressional district, and Averie Bishop, a Texas beauty pageant winner running to represent District 112 in the Texas House of Representatives. These inspirational candidates serve as perfect examples of how Gen Z is more than capable of making real change.

But we can’t do it alone. Throughout 2024, Her Campus is partnering with organizations doing important work to amplify thoughtful civic engagement and education. (Like DoSomething, one of our incredible partners in voter registration and education this election season. Check out our Her Campus x DoSomething voter registration page here.)

In the first of a series of in-house surveys surrounding the election, Her Campus’s December 2023 survey data showed 82% of respondents are concerned about the outcome of the 2024 presidential election. As a generation that’s showing up at the polls at higher rates than previous generations, it’s our job to stay informed. Her Campus makes it easy. Whether you want to learn about voter registration or read about a Gen Zer making waves in politics, we’re supporting you with all the tools you need as the 2024 election season unfolds.
