Hi collegiettes™,
My name is Kamaria A. Gboro and I am originally from New Orleans, LA. I am currently a senior at the University of Missouri (Mizzou) studying English and Textile and Apparel Management. Over three years ago, I embarked on a journey that I never imagined would be so fulfilling. My college years at Mizzou have been a whirlwind of fun and I’ve met some lifelong friends. However, I’ve also gained a few pounds. My ultimate goal for this school year has been to lose the weight I gained while enrolled here, and maybe a little more. As I prepare for my future, I want to become the healthiest I can before it’s too late. There’s only so much pizza, burgers and nachos one college kid should eat.
I invite you all to follow me on my journey to a healthier self! I know it will be long and tedious, but with my motivation I’m sure I’ll reach my goal. Some days won’t be as good as others, and I’m wiling to share the good, the bad, and the ugly with the world. I’m a southern belle at heart, but I’ve always been a city girl. After graduation I plan on hitting the pavement of the Big Apple, and I’d like that to be a new start for me. So as I prepare to change my diet and lifestyle, I’ll be sharing tips, secrets and my daily experiences with you all. I hope you guys are ready for this rollercoaster ride.
I’m a little late with the blog, but I have been following (well trying my best to follow) the SELF Jumpstart Diet for about a week. I can see one of my huge challenges will be staying focused while traveling. I was just in New Orleans for Mardi Gras and the food (which wasn’t too bad) and the drinks (eek!) were hard to stay away from. Feel free to give me some advice on staying on track when traveling and please say hi! I’m a little nervous about being this open with my weight issues and dieting, but it should be fun. That photo is from my 22nd birthday, I thought I’d choose something fun for my first photo.
always love,
Kamaria
