HC Wake-Up Call: Top Democratic Rep Believes Trump Could’ve Committed Obstruction of Justice, American Airlines Avoids Holiday Flight Cancellations & Chick-fil-A Has Peppermint Chip Milkshakes

Good morning Her Campus! With a break-neck news cycle, there is no possible way for you to stay on top of every story that comes across your feeds—we’re all only human, after all.

But, life comes at you fast. So grab a cup of coffee and settle in for this quick and dirty guide to stories you might’ve been sleeping on (like, literally. It’s early.)

Top Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee Suggests That Trump May Have Obstructed Justice

Sen. Dianne Feinstein, one of the top Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee, says that, based on the president’s recent tweets, she thinks that Donald Trump may have obstructed justice. Going off a tweet in which Trump said, “I had to fire General Flynn because he lied,” Feinstein believes that if Trump actually knew Flynn had lied, any interference in the FBI’s investigation of him, as former FBI director James Comey said he did, would count as obstruction of justice.

“I see it in the hyper-frenentic attitude of the White House, the comments every day, the continual tweets,” said Feinstein. “I see it most importantly in what happened with the firing of Comey and it is my belief that is directly because he did not agree to ‘lift the cloud’ of the Russia investigation. That’s obstruction of justice.”

American Airlines Avoids Cancelling Holiday Flights

After experiencing an error that could have led to thousands of cancelled holiday flights, American Airlines has announced that it has resolved its scheduling issues. Originally without enough pilots for late December flights, the company now has its full schedule covered. While some flights still do not have a pilot, the company’s new agreement, which has yet to be publicly shared, promises to fix any absences soon.

Chick-fil-A Brings Back Peppermint Chip Milkshakes

What is the holiday season without fast food chains’ special drinks? Plenty of other places have introduced holiday-themed drinks for the time being, and Chick-fil-A is no exception. The restaurant recently brought back its famed Peppermint Chip milkshakes on Nov. 10 and will sell the candy cane-flavored drink until Jan. 6 at all of its locations. It may be a bit of a decadent treat, but if you can’t treat yourself at Christmas time, what can you do?
