Mississippi Could Become the First State to Ban Abortion After 15 Weeks
As Refinery29 reports, on Tuesday, the Mississippi state senate voted to pass a bill that would ban all abortions after 15 weeks post-fertilization. While the bill makes an exception in cases where the mother’s health is in danger, no exceptions for rape or incest are provided. The only barrier the bill must pass now is being signed into law — and Mississippi’s anti-choice governor Phil Bryant makes this possibility extremely likely. If the bill is passed, Mississippi, which currently bans abortion at 18 weeks, will have the most restrictive ban on abortion of all 50 states.

North Korea Says It’s Open to Negotiations on Its Nuclear Program
In a move that shocked the world on Tuesday, North Korea released a statement saying it was willing to negotiate its nuclear program, the New York Times reports. “The North Korean side clearly stated its willingness to denuclearize,” the statement reads. “It made it clear that it would have no reason to keep nuclear weapons if the military threat to the North was eliminated and its security guaranteed.” The statement also said that North Korea would suspend all missile tests if negotiations were to begin. This is the first time North Korea, which has technically been in a state of war with the U.S. for decades, has ever hinted toward a willingness to end their nuclear program in exchange for security from the U.S, and the world is watching to see what will happen next.
It’s been difficult to find good news this past year. But word that North Korea may enter negotiations towards denuclearization is a rare bright spot.

You Can Audition to Be the Next Steve on the ‘Blue’s Clues’ Reboot
’90s babies, brace yourselves: not only is Nickelodeon bringing back our favorite childhood show, Blue’s Clues for 20-episode season, but they’re looking for a new Steve to hang out with Blue’s adorable, animated self on the reboot. This time, however, they’re looking for both males and females of all ethnicities between the ages of 18-25 who have, “a comedy background, natural connection with the camera, and [can] empower the home viewer to feel important, respected, and smart,” BuzzFeed News reports. And TBH, the only thing that could make me love Blue’s Clues even more than I did when I was two is if Steve 2.0 brought some gender or racial diversity to the show.
