We Need To Talk About The Tentacles In Harry’s “Music For A Sushi Restaurant” Video

Harry Styles has officially dropped the official music video for “Music For A Sushi Restaurant,” and yes — I’m unwell. Styles threw fans for a loop on Oct. 27 when he announced the debut of the music video on Twitter with only 12 hours for everyone to prepare for its 12 p.m. EST release. So, obviously, everyone is freaking out! (And not only about Styles’ beard, though there is online discourse about that, too — still not sure if I’m here for it.) The splashiest part of the video, however, is undoubtedly Styles’… tentacles?

Yep, that’s right, the star is part-squid in this music video and it’s already causing chaos online. (The visuals! The sounds!) The video starts with a group of fisherpeople discovering the squid-human hybrid that is Styles. Think merman, but with literal squid tentacles. Eventually, Styles is taken back to their (yep, you guessed it!) sushi restaurant. Visuals of chefs cutting up tentacle-like parts joined by some *interesting* noises are shown throughout. And yes, he even slaps some people in the face with his tentacles. Sounds weird, but it happened, trust me.

Eventually, Styles puts on a show at the out-of-this-world sushi restaurant. In true Styles fashion, he’s dressed head to tentacle in extravagant clothing, playing music for the sushi restaurant while some shrimp figures play music in the background. Yes, you read that right.

Twitter wouldn’t be Twitter without entertaining reactions, so you bet people online had a thing or two to say about it.
