As an American, I was kind of born with a strange fascination with the Royal Family. Whether I’m binging The Crown with my mom or falling down conspiracy wormholes, I always feel the need to be on the pulse of all of the royal happenings. So, you can imagine how insufferable I was when Netflix dropped the teaser trailer for a brand new docuseries centered around two significant figures within the Royal Family.
On Dec. 1, Netflix released a minute-long teaser trailer for Harry & Meghan, a six-part docuseries chronicling the love story between the former Duke and Duchess of Sussex — who you may know as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
The trailer is short, but it definitely packs an emotional punch. The story of the documentary is laid out in simple black-and-white photographs of Harry, Meghan, and other members of the Royal Family. And along with the simple piano ballad, we hear Harry say “No one sees what’s happening behind closed doors”, before cutting to an interview with Harry where he states, “I had to do everything I could to protect my family.”
The trailer continues to show video snippets and photos before fading into an interview with Meghan where she says, “When the stakes were this high, doesn’t it make more sense to hear our story from us?” Bestie, let’s just say that I have chills already.
What Is Harry & Meghan About?
While the teaser trailer is only a minute long, we can definitely gather what this series is going to be about. Harry and Meghan both have been open about their struggles in the spotlight, especially after their decision to leave the Royal Family. However, Harry and Meghan have kept a lot of their relationship private, with the media dubbing their marriage “a fairytale”. However, it looks as though the docuseries is going to give us a look into the good, the bad, and the ugly of their high-profile relationship.

Across six episodes, the series explores the clandestine days of their early courtship and the challenges that led to them feeling forced to step back from their full-time roles in the institution. With commentary from friends and family, most of whom have never spoken publicly before about what they witnessed, and historians who discuss the state of the British Commonwealth today and the royal family’s relationship with the press, the series does more than illuminate one couple’s love story, it paints a picture of our world and how we treat each other.”
When Does Harry & Meghan Come out?
Unfortunately, Netflix didn’t set an official release date for Harry & Meghan. However, sources at The Daily Mail speculated that the first episode will drop as soon as Dec. 8, so I’ll be sure to update you on when you can watch it.
