One of New York’s biggest landmarks, Grand Central Station turned 100 years old today. For the past 100 years, the Grand Central Terminal has served as a passageway for over millions of commuters. It has become an incredibly popular tourist destination since it was founded in 1913, attracting visitors from all around the world.

Grand Central station is the busiest train station in the country, serving as an incredibly example of architecture for New Yorkers and visitors alike. Over the years, the well-known spot has become more than just a way of commuting from one place to another—it has become an absolutely iconic location in terms of media and pop culture.

Grand Central Station has made quite a few appearances in movies and TV shows such as “Friends With Benefits” and “Gossip Girl.” The centennial birthday is being celebrated with a public rededication ceremony as well as musical performances and the opening of a new exhibit in the terminal titled, “Grand by Design.” The event will also include special offers, speakers and surprise entertainment for everyone who attends.

The terminal is also expected to receive honors from publications and companies such as the Guinness Book of World Records. The stores within the terminal will be offering special discounts and offers for everyone who visits Grand Central Station.
