Gisele Teaches Young Cancer Patients How to Work a Runway

Last week ex-Victoria Secret model Gisele Bundchen was a real-life angel for girls undergoing cancer treatment at the Jimmy Fund Clinic at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. During a special Girls’ Weekend Out, the 29 girls, who are undergoing treatment for or recovering from cancer treatment were spending a day being pampered at Salon Pini & Co., when the 31-year-old “model of the millenium” dropped by.

Patient Hannah Baiona, a high school sophomore, who is in remission from Hodgkin’s lymphoma described the event to the Boston Herald, saying that “we all started clapping and everyone was excited
She individually met with us all and gave us each a rose, and gave us each a hug, and we got to take pictures with her.
She was mostly saying hi to everyone, being like “It’s nice to meet you! You look so pretty. You look so good!’”  After their meet-and-greet, a catwalk was set up in the salon and Gisele gave the girls a tutorial in working a runway.

Baiona also told the Herald about Gisele’s warm attitude towards her and the other young patients, “there were three girls that were in wheelchairs, and she strolled them down the catwalk. Another girl and I didn’t want to walk alone, so she waked arm-in-arm with us.”

The supermodel, who re-arranged her international schedule in order to make time for her surprise appearance was deeply moved by her experience, reportedly dissolving into tears after saying goodbye to everyone. You can check out The Boston Herald‘s video of the special day here, just make sure you have plenty of tissues on hand.
