Ginny & Marcus Might Make Things Official In ‘Ginny & Georgia’ Season 2

The beloved (and messy) mother-daughter duo of Ginny and Georgia is kicking off the new year, with Season 2 of Ginny & Georgia set to premiere on Netflix on Jan. 5. The first season premiered on Feb. 24, 2021, and fans were instantly drawn into the complicated life of Georgia and her daughter Ginny. Just to jog your memory, the first season consisted of a blossoming relationship between Ginny and Marcus, romantic storylines of Georgia’s lovers including Ginny’s dad, friendship struggles, Georgia’s past slowly being revealed, and coming-of-age moments with Ginny and her friends. However, the season left viewers on a major cliffhanger — Ginny and her brother were making a mad dash away from home after Ginny’s recent hookups were revealed and Georgia apparently got away with murder.

Will MANG recover? Are Marcus and Ginny over? More than a year later, fans are getting antsy as the answers to all of their burning questions are soon to be revealed. On Dec. 13, the trailer for Season 2 dropped and it fed into the anticipation. After a long-awaited return of the show, viewers aren’t letting the sneaky moments of the trailer slip by. Buckle up peaches, it seems like the new season will be a wild ride!

MANG is on rocky waters, but a new power duo is emerging.

MANG, which is the self-adopted friend group name of Max, Abby, Norah, and Ginny, ended Season 1 with some tension among the group. After Max stumbled upon text messages between Marcus (Max’s brother) and Ginny, their secret relationship was revealed and left a rift between Max and Ginny. Abby was also dumped from the friend group by Max because she knew of the sneaking around. Abby and Ginny were essentially ousted from MANG, which I guess is now MN.

The Season 2 trailer seems to be teasing that the MANG drama is still fresh as the video shows a clip of Abby and Ginny strutting the school halls together as Max and Norah watch. This came as a shock to fans because when Abby and Ginny were last seen on the screen together, they weren’t exactly the best of friends. Abby was mad at Ginny for splitting up the friend group because she needed support amid her parents’ divorce and personal issues. Ginny was mad at Abby because she thought she was to blame for Max finding out about her secret relationship with Marcus. However, it seems in Season 2 that the two paired up as a dynamic friendship duo after being shunned from MANG. Ginny was also seen confronting Max. Fans are already hyping up the new friendship pair with one edit on TikTok garnering over 530,000 likes.

Zion will have a bigger role in Ginny’s life this season.

After running away from home, the trailer revealed that Ginny and Austin end up staying with Zion, Ginny’s dad. Zion made a few appearances in Season 1 through flashbacks of Georgia’s troubled past and returning to tell Ginny he wants to stick around. There was a brief rekindling between Georgia and him, but that ended quickly once Ginny found out and Georgia had Paul, her now fiance, to worry about.

Ginny and Zion have a close relationship, but in the first season, she never got to spend much time with him as Georgia has sole custody and Zion was living a nomadic lifestyle. Zion and Ginny are hopefully getting their much-deserved screen time in Season 2 and their father-daughter duo will grow even closer as Ginny tries to figure out her life post-Georgia’s chaos.

Marcus and Ginny aren’t over yet, and they might even make it official.

OK, let’s be honest. We were all rooting for Ginny and Marcus. It seems like Marcus was the only one that understood her and was there for her during the friendship and family drama. However, Season 1 ripped that happiness from them (and us) when the season ended with Marcus saying their relationship was a mistake and Ginny was on the run. The state of their relationship was left up in the air.

However, the trailer reignited the sparks between Ginny and Marcus as they showed clips of them happy together, and seemingly official. Fans of the show were quick to point this out and were absolutely screaming at this couple returning to our screens. TikToks of the few trailer clips of the couple were already popping off on the app with one amassing over 6.2 million views

Georgia is as messy and complicated as ever.

Now, for the real star of the show: Ms. Georgia Miller. There was so much to unpack from Georgia’s story in Season 1 and it appears that there will be even more to digest in Season 2 thanks to the trailer.

In Season 1, it was evident Georgia has a troubled past and, because of that, was always on the run. Georgia is the queen of secrets, from embezzling funds to framing Austin’s dad to covering up the murder of Kenny. When the first season ended, Gabriel, an investigator, was onto her, but Georgia is always one step ahead. As Gabriel confronts her at the celebration of Paul’s victory, he asks her what she did with Kenny’s body. Well, the answer was up in the air. No, literally — his ashes were in the fireworks that were going off during the celebration.

The Season 2 trailer made it seem like Georgia’s games aren’t over yet. In the first few seconds of the video, Georgia looks relatively at ease after her kids ran off and is enjoying her new life with Paul. However, it’s never that simple with Georgia. There were clips of her holding a gun, flashbacks of her childhood, and packing her bags. The trailer raises the question: What’s next for Georgia? As we all know, she’s always up to something.

As we patiently wait for Jan. 5 to see if the trailer is as accurate as it seems, I’ll be watching edits of Marcus and Ginny in the meantime — they better be endgame.
