After rumors started swirling on the internet, Gigi Hadid is finally coming clean on how she feels about her close friend Taylor Swift’s relationship with Travis Kelce. So, are those rumors true? Hadid says definitely not.
On Nov. 9, Us Weekly wrote a story about the romance of Swift and Kelce, and reported that Hadid disagreed with how Swift has been acting with Kelce. A source apparently told the publication, “She feels like Taylor is doing too much, too soon.” Soon after the story hit the internet, Perez Hilton posted the story on Instagram with the headline: “Gigi Hadid ‘Doesn’t Agree With the Way’ Taylor Swift Is Handling Travis Kelce Romance!” Hilton also captioned the photo, “Wait really? But isn’t #GigiHadid moving swiftly with #BradleyCooper too?”
After a few days, Hadid finally broke her silence. On Nov. 13, Hadid commented on the post with, “I’m a couple of days late to this tag. But didn’t the press try this last week w Selena? Let it be.. We are all over the moon for our girl. Period.” Is the press spinning the narrative and trying to start beef between Hadid and Swift? Looking at other good friends of Swift, Kelce has gotten the stamp of approval from BFF Abigail Anderson, who is infamous for her shoutout in Swift’s song “Fifteen.”
The Oct. 30 Page Six report that Hadid referenced in her Instagram comment claimed Selena Gomez was questioning how Swift was going about her relationship with Kelce. An insider claimed Gomez thought they were moving “too fast.” Claims about what Hadid was “concerned” about were similar. The source from the Us Weekly article said, “One of the reasons Gigi hasn’t attended any of Travis’ games is because she disagrees with the way Taylor has been acting with [him].”
Based on Hadid’s clapback, both of these comments are incorrect. And Hadid speaking out about the false reports means a lot — it’s uncommon for Hadid or Gomez to go to the press to clear the air on rumors flying between them and their bestie, Swift. This was the first time Hadid or any friend spoke about her romantic situation.
It’s a good thing Hadid gave Swift her stamp of approval, too, because things between Swift and Kelce are heating up. The weekend of Nov. 9, Swift started her international Eras Tour dates, and Kelce flew out to Argentina to be there — it was only suitable to support her after she attended many Chiefs games this season. He even got a song shoutout during “Karma,” and fans went wild. Despite the rumors about friendships not supporting her relationship, nothing can get in the way of Swift and Kelce. Getting a shoutout in a song and voluntarily flying 12 hours to see her perform may have gotten him the token of the best lover so far.
