Are sparks flying between Selena Gomez and Zayn Malik? In case you aren’t familiar with what I’m talking about, according to a rogue TikTok video, the former Disney Star and former One Direction member might be dating. I’m glad to see Selena is apparently finding romance despite the controversies that she has been in the middle of, like the drama with Hailey Bieber and Kylie Jenner.
On March 23, Gomez and Malik were reportedly spotted in New York kissing each other on a dinner date. Her Campus reached out to Gomez and Malik’s teams for comment but didn’t hear back by the time of publication. Although neither Gomez or Malik have confirmed these dating speculations, it’s interesting to note the two follow each other on Instagram. (Zayn only follows less than 20 people, so it could be notable.)
Now, fans are reportedly getting some input from Malik’s former partner of nearly five years and the mother of his child, Gigi Hadid. According to Us Weekly, a source told the publication the model has “no problem whatsoever with Zayn dating” Gomez. Her Campus reached out to Hadid’s team for comment but didn’t hear back by the time of publication. Hadid reportedly thinks that “as long as [Malik] is happy and continues to be a good co-parent to [their daughter] Khai, she’s fine with whoever he goes out with.”
This isn’t especially surprising, since the two broke up for good in 2021 and neither Hadid nor Malik have made comments on the others’ new relationships. (Notably, in September 2022, it was rumored Hadid was dating Leonardo DiCaprio, but it was never confirmed, and their rumored relationship fizzled out soon after.). Malik has never been one to start any drama over his ex being seen with other people. And frankly, I’d like to say that Hadid and Malik’s split was taken extremely well by the media. (At least, a lot better than Gomez and Justin Bieber’s was taken by the media.)
Gomez and Malik have many connections with each other, and them being shipped together is not the most unlikely pairing. After all, in 2013, all of the band members of One Direction all admitted Selena Gomez was on their Kiss List.
