If you haven’t already heard, today is “National Pink Out Day,” a day dedicated to supporting Planned Parenthood. As part of National Pink Out Day, the organization will offer free STD testing today in 28 cities, including Washington.
National Pink Out Day comes as Planned Parenthood faces intense scrutiny after accusations of selling aborted fetus parts. National Pink Out Day is also happening at the same time as a hearing with a House Oversight and Government Reform Committee about the allegations against Planned Parenthood, The New York Times reports.
Many people support Planned Parenthood, don’t want Congress to defund it and feel that the accusations are more about preventing women from making their own medical decisions than anything else.
